
Begum Shaista Suhrawardy Ikramullah was one of the earliest PhDs from the University of London, the daughter of Sir Hassan Suhrawardy and wife of Muhammad Ikramullah, Pakistan's first Foreign Secretary. She played an active role in the Pakistan Movement. She gained considerable diplomatic experience in her own right. From the 1930s to the 1980s, she contributed her writings to the Urdu journal Ismat which covered diverse literary and political topics. This volume presents a selection of these writings.
